10 New Live Rosin Dab Strains Now Live at thisthat: The 2026 Summer Drop

Live rosin is the purest THCa concentrate you can smoke — pressed from frozen flower with nothing but ice water, heat, and pressure. A live rosin dab is a dose of that concentrate vaporized at low temps, delivering the strain's full terpene profile without solvents, residuals, or distillate fillers. thisthat just dropped ten all-new live rosin dab strains — every one lab-tested, every one solventless, every one between 91% and 99.6% THCa. They replace our outgoing rosin lineup as it sells through, and they ship directly to most U.S. states today.

What is a live rosin dab?

A live rosin dab is a small amount of solventless concentrate — pressed from fresh-frozen cannabis flower — vaporized on a dab rig, e-rig, or rosin-compatible vape. "Live" means the starting flower was frozen right after harvest to lock in terpenes. "Rosin" means the extraction used only mechanical pressure and heat, no chemicals. The result is a gooey, amber-to-cream concentrate with the cleanest flavor and fastest onset of any legal hemp product.

If you've dabbed live resin before, live rosin is the same idea one step higher up the purity ladder: no butane, no propane, no closed-loop system — just ice water, micron bags, and a rosin press. Fewer hands, fewer solvents, more of the plant.

Why does solventless matter?

Live resin uses hydrocarbons (butane, propane) to strip cannabinoids and terpenes from the plant, then purges those solvents before the product is sold. Residual-solvent testing is the reason every live resin COA is six pages long. Live rosin skips the chemistry entirely — the plant goes into an ice bath, the trichomes sink, the hash is dried and pressed. No solvent has ever touched the final product. For dabbers who care about clean inhalation, that matters. For flavor chasers, it matters more: terpenes that survive a butane wash are not the same terpenes that survive a 180°F press.

Every strain in this drop tested non-detect across 60 pesticides, 20 residual solvents, heavy metals, mycotoxins, and microbial pathogens. Green Leaf Lab, Sacramento — California license C8-0000078-LIC. You can request any individual COA by lab sample ID (S5H0015-01 through S5H0015-10).

The ten new live rosin dab strains

The lineup breaks down to three sativas, four hybrids, and three indicas — pick by vibe instead of scrolling potency numbers. For the record: the lowest THCa in this batch is 91.19%, the highest is 99.59%, and the average is just over 95%. Rosin rarely tests that clean across ten concurrent strains.

How do you read a live rosin COA?

Every thisthat live rosin product ships with a Certificate of Analysis. Four sections matter most:

  • Cannabinoids by HPLC — look for THCa % and Total THC % (Total THC = delta 9-THC + THCa × 0.877). For rosin, these numbers should be above 85% THCa; anything below 80% suggests the press over-flushed or the flower was suboptimal.
  • Pesticides — 60+ compounds tested. A clean rosin shows "ND" (non-detect) across the entire panel.
  • Residual solvents — this is the section that should always read ND for rosin. If any solvent shows up, it's not rosin — it's mis-labeled.
  • Microbials, metals, mycotoxins — all should pass. Pay particular attention to aspergillus and aflatoxin results on any concentrate you're inhaling.

For a deeper walk-through of COA reading, see our THCa vs. THC Percentages explainer, which breaks down the 0.877 conversion and what the "ND" and LOQ columns actually mean.

What's the difference between live rosin and live resin?

Short version: live resin uses solvents, live rosin doesn't.

Live resin is extracted with butane or propane, which pulls terpenes and cannabinoids out of frozen flower in a closed-loop chemistry run. The solvent is then purged from the final product and residual-solvent tested. Live resin tends to be cheaper per gram, bolder on gas-forward terpenes, and easier to produce at scale.

Live rosin uses no solvents — just ice water to separate the trichomes from the plant material (making "bubble hash") and then heat plus pressure to squeeze the oil out of the hash. Lower yields per pound of flower. Higher cost per gram. Cleaner inhalation. More delicate terpene expression. For a full breakdown of how each process affects flavor, effect, and price — and how both translate into edibles — see our Live Rosin Gummies vs Live Resin Gummies deep dive.

What's a good temp for dabbing live rosin?

Low. Rosin's terpene profile is delicate; high-temp dabs burn it off and leave you with a harsh, THCa-only hit. Aim for:

  • 500°F to 545°F (260–285°C) on an e-rig or thermometer-equipped banger. This is the sweet spot for flavor.
  • Up to 570°F (300°C) if you want a bigger vapor cloud and can tolerate slightly less flavor.
  • Above 600°F is too hot for rosin — you'll lose terpenes and torch the cannabinoids.

If you're dabbing from a rosin-compatible vape instead of a rig, same principle: run the lower voltage settings. For 510-threaded rosin devices, 2.8–3.2V produces the cleanest flavor.

Where can I buy the new live rosin dab strains?

All ten strains are live now at thisthatcbd.com/products/thca-full-spectrum-live-rosin. Pick your strain from the dropdown on that page, add to cart, and check out. Every jar ships with its COA referenced by lab sample ID (S5H0015-01 through S5H0015-10) — you can request the full six-page PDF for any strain before or after purchase. Supply on some strains is limited to one batch; when they're gone, they're gone until the next press.

Frequently asked questions

Is live rosin stronger than live resin?
Not necessarily. Potency depends on the starting flower and the processor, not the extraction method. Live resin can test higher on THC than rosin because solvents are more efficient extractors. What rosin wins is flavor fidelity and cleanliness — not raw numbers.

How should I store live rosin?
Cool, dark, airtight. Terpenes are volatile; light and heat degrade them within days. A silicone or glass jar in a drawer works fine. For longer storage (over a month), refrigerate. Bring back to room temperature before dabbing so the rosin is malleable.

Why is live rosin more expensive than live resin?
Yields. A closed-loop hydrocarbon system can extract 15–20 pounds of live resin from 100 pounds of flower. A rosin press yields 3–5 pounds of live rosin from the same 100 pounds of flower — and only top-shelf flower presses well. Rosin's higher price reflects the lower yield and the demand for better-grade input flower.

Do these live rosin dabs contain solvents?
No. Every strain in this drop tested ND (non-detect) across 20 residual solvents including butane, propane, ethanol, hexane, and all common extraction chemistries. The full COA for any strain is available on request by lab sample ID S5H0015-01 through S5H0015-10.

Are these the new lineup, or add-ons to the old one?
These ten are the new lineup — they're replacing our previous rosin strains as the older jars sell through. If you had a favorite from the prior lineup, check stock now; once it's gone, the next press will come from this new ten-strain roster.

Can I dab live rosin in a standard 510 cartridge?
Not usually. Live rosin is too thick and terpene-rich for most 510 ceramic-coil carts. Rosin-specific carts (with larger airways and rosin-rated coils) exist, but for best flavor, use a dab rig, e-rig, or a dedicated rosin vape device. For a breakdown of which concentrate formats work in which hardware, see our What Is a THCa 510 Threaded Cartridge guide.
